Purple Top Verbena are a mainstay in any ornamental or cut flower garden. They add dimension to the garden, growing three to four feet tall and dotting it with little vibrant lavender flowers that are as prolific as they are adorable. Purple Top Verbena is one of the best plants for attracting butterflies, particularly the Tiger Swallowtail. These easy-to-grow annuals will often reseed themselves and are hardy to zone 7. Round out your planting by combining them with cosmos, lavender, and purple zinnias.
• Easy to grow annual
• Pollinator attractor with bright, bold Summer blooms

These took time to germinate but it was totally worth it. I had excellent germination. Started 6 weeks before last frost and used seed trays. I added vermiculite on top with light cinnamon sprinkle. I've added these plants everywhere I have room but they can get quite wide. I've been cutting long stems and adding them to bouquets. The color is so gorgeous and pairs well with almost everything in my garden. They are doing the best in ground over containers. I highly recommend adding this color to your garden.

Hello Lani. Thank you again for your feedback, and we’re glad we were able to provide a resolution for you. This is one of the varieties that often benefits from winter sowing and cold exposure, but germination can still be somewhat slow or uneven depending on spring temperatures and moisture conditions. Extended wet conditions or repeated freeze/thaw cycles during winter can sometimes impact germination success as well. We truly appreciate your understanding and your willingness to share your experience. We always stand behind our products and are happy to help with planting guidance and troubleshooting to support better success going forward!
Love these plants. I had some at my old house and I'm anxious to plant some at the new house.

I started these indoors last spring and they were beautiful planted out last year. This summer I found them self seeding along the fence and other locations. They do want their sun and I found them to not need a lot of water

Hello, Kaytee
Thank you for your review of Eden Brothers! After speaking with our Customer Service Team, it seems we were able to resolve this for you. We greatly appreciate you bringing this to our attention as we strive to provide the best quality service and products to our gardeners around the country.
When I went to plant these seeds in trays, I realized that I didn't have the best growing conditions for them. But I did the best I could. I had about half a dozen seeds germinate out of a 36-cell tray by the time I started hardening off trays. I decided to just put them outside on my porch with the rest of the trays & didn't have high hopes - and then every single cell germinated & grew enough to be planted - to the point that I ran out of places to put them & gave some to my dad, who planted them & had them take off within days. Some of the ones I planted in random spots are doing meh, but others are decent & a couple I put in a large pot are doing very well. I don't know if they'll flower this first year - perennials often don't flower first year. But if they survive to their second summer, I have high hopes. If they don't survive, I don't think it will be because of the seeds themselves, but because of the fickle nature of weather.
If I had room for more of these, I'd buy more.
