Wildflower Mixes for Regions, States, and Special Conditions
Wildflower seeds mixes include annual, perennial and biennial wildflower varieties. Some mixes are created for an explosion of color—we have flower mixes in shades of red, pink, yellow, white and many other color themes. Other mixes are designed for your particular garden or soil conditions. For instance, some wildflower varieties perform well in shade or have special moisture requirements. Some flower mixes are great for certain regions of the country, so we put together an entire assortment of regional wildflower mixes, from our Southeast Mix, to Midwest Mix, and Pacific Northwest Mix. We took that one step further by creating state collections. You’ll find a Texas Wildflower Mix, Florida Wildflower Mix, and special seed mixes for Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, and California.
Save the Bees with Wildflower Mixes
Contrasting and distinctive, our wildflower mixes will surprise you daily with new blossoms and colors and the beneficial insects that they attract. A previously neglected field or patch of yard can become a lively scene of nature in action. Many wildflower mixes are designed to attract pollinators. Bees love them, as well as birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, and other beneficial insects for your garden. If you’re on the Save the Bees bandwagon (and you should be!), a wildflower garden is a must-have.
Hundreds of Popular Flower Varieties
Our flower mix selection contains hundreds of popular varieties like poppies, cosmos, zinnias, sunflowers, lupine, as well as other well-known heirlooms, open-pollinated, and organic varieties. Learn How to Plant Wildflower Seeds
Maybe you’re a beginner gardener. If so, that’s great because these wildflower mixes are incredibly easy to plant and care for. First, determine what seeds you’d like to grow. Our website has a features tab on the left-hand column of this page to search all of our flower seed mixes by special identifiers, like “attracts pollinators,” “heirloom,” or “easy to grow and maintain.”
What is the Best Month to Plant Flower Mixes?
Deciding when to plant wildflowers is the next step. Depending on where you live, these mixes can be planted in spring, summer, and fall. Spring planting is best to begin within a month or so after the final frost of the winter season. Summer planting is best for cooler areas where temperatures don’t get above 80 degrees or more for long periods of time. Finally, to plant wildflowers in fall, the trick is to do so after the first killing frost of the season and when the ground is nearly frozen to prevent any chance of germination.
