Looking to add some delicate but passionate blooms to your planting space? These ranunculus bulbs have paper thin petals in loud and boisterous colors of magenta, gold, and lipstick red. They are the perfect addition around flower beds or in sunny spots that could use some extra wow. They are right in line with some of our other passion mixes. Explore our lilies, tulips, dahlias, and gladiolus for more gardening excitement.

Note: In Zones 8–10, ranunculus are grown as perennials—plant in fall for spring blooms. In Zones 4–7, they are treated as cool-season annuals. Start corms indoors in late winter and transplant after nights stay above 30°F, or dry-store them and plant in spring after hard frosts.

Customer photo review of Ranunculus Bulbs - Passion Mix

While the colors that bloomed did match the advertised images, germination rate was extremely poor. Out of 20 corms only about 12 grew, and 7 produced flowers, the others did not seem healthy and never bloomed.

I bought this variety of ranunculas with a couple others and had a picture in my mind of a vibrant mass planting. Started them indoors, was super happy when they developed healthy, long roots. Planted them in my raised beds with excited anticipation. Unfortunately, my anticipation was not rewarded because of the 60 or so bulbs I planted, a measly 14 actually produced flowers; the rest didnt do anything. Maybe they will come up next spring? Cant decide if I should just plant over them.

I got this box of very, very tiny bulbs maybe a month ago. Put them in a pot? Dried out. Pre-sprout? Nothing. Zero roots. Honestly, these bulbs were so tiny and broken up, that I didn’t think there was much of a chance they would grow roots and sprout. Huge waste of time and money. So sad.
