    I was looking for some veggies that may work well in containers and portable above ground gardens. This mix of beets seemed interesting and I like beets so thought we'd give them a try. They were planted in different containers in March in zone 7B. They get plenty of sun. The containers were layered with some gravel, branches, leaves and above ground garden soil. They have had side dressing of vegetable plant food and get plenty of sun. Wanting to spread out the harvest, I planted over several weeks. Only a couple of plants came up at all. So far in June we still haven't had a single beet of any variety. Sadly, the same outcome occurred with 3 other seeds I ordered. Bulbs have all been great. Getting too hot now but will try again for fall. Disappointing results on first attempt.
