Customer photo review of Tulip Bulbs - Queen of Night

As advertised - dark, velvety purple. Twice I've purchased them and planted in the fall, both times they've impressed when spring came around.

Customer photo review of Tulip Bulbs - Queen of Night

I didn’t have a plan for these bulbs when purchased last spring, so I just put them in an area that was available. Once they grew and bloomed this season, I will certainly be purchasing more! The dramatic contrast between the white of my house and the bloom color is to die for. Very excited and happy every morning when I walk outside to do my morning watering and see these beauties!

Blooms are beautiful, however a few of the flowers bloomed white with dark pink on the edges. Beautiful blooms, just not all of them were the same color.

Most of the bulbs came up, but not all. The color of these tulips is stunning. I would definitely recommend them if you love a dark bloom.

Tulip Bulbs - Queen of Night

I bought these and they were beautiful the first season. This season they didn’t come up. All my Walmart tulips came back. When I reached out they told me it was because of where I live. It didn’t get cold enough for them to come back.

Tulip Bulbs - Queen of Night

Store owner replied: Hello Abigail. Thank you for your review. This specialty variety is considered a short-lived perennial, but in warmer climates, they often behave more like annuals. These tulips require a period of consistent winter chilling to reliably return and bloom well each year. In milder winters, they may not receive enough cold exposure to reset properly, which can result in weak growth or no return at all. For this reason, many gardeners in warmer zones choose to replant fresh bulbs each year or pre-chill bulbs before planting to improve performance. We are glad we were able to offer tips and a resolution you were happy with. We are always here to help you get the most success out of your plantings!

These tulips are gorgeous. Everyone commented on them because the color is splendid. I had a lot of blooms from my bulbs my first year and I even planted very late (January in Indiana). If you love tulips you need some Queen of the Night to grace your garden.

Tulip Bulbs - Queen of Night

I had a 90% success rate. Lost 1 bulb, but this may have been due to improper postal handling. Each of the large bulbs actually had very small starts budding off of them, so I went ahead and popped those off and planted them relatively shallow; made up for my lost bulb with 4-5 more plants than expected.
