Came back even stronger in their 2nd year as volunteers. First year plants were smaller but super unique. Scratch seeds on sandpaper before planting to improve germination rates & always direct seed in ground. Hope this helps!

I soak these seeds overnight and then planted them in the soil outside and in a nine pack in potting soil. I left a few in a damp paper towel in a dark place, hoping to see some action that way. One seed from the whole package germinated. I'm very disappointed. Pictured is the one tough guy that made it.

Store owner replied: Hello Joanne. Thank you for your review. We're sorry to hear that only one of your seeds germinated despite trying several different germination methods. We understand how disappointing that must have been. We agree that soaking the seeds overnight is an excellent way to help soften their hard seed coat and encourage germination. Nasturtiums also germinate best when direct sown about ½ inch deep in well-drained soil after the soil has warmed. Consistent moisture during germination is important, but overly wet conditions, allowing the soil to dry out completely, or cool soil temperatures can all reduce germination success. Because nasturtiums develop quickly, they generally perform best when sown directly where they will grow rather than transplanted. We appreciate you contacting us directly so we could help address this issue. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope that one determined seedling grows into a beautiful, vigorous plant. At Eden Brothers, we stand behind our products and are committed to helping our gardeners achieve success!

    Unfortunately, none sprouted.

Again, I'm impressed with Eden Brother's Seed germination rates. These all came up & blooms were gorgeous! Unfortunately, they don't hold up to complete & utter neglect. I got busy with work and another side project and failed to keep the first bed where I planted these watered. They need at least occasional watering to survive. Have a second set of seeds going in a different spot, and they are filling in nicely.
