    People want to reach out and touch these blooms! These dinnerplate dahlias have layers of petals that expand like in a kaleidoscope. Huge blooms on giant stalks, some reaching 6 feet tall. Had to see it to believe it!

    Store owner replied: Hello Tural P. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry that not all of your dahlias sprouted for you. For dahlia tubers planted in late June in Zone 6, the warmer soil should generally encourage growth, although planting that late can shorten the amount of time the plants have to establish and bloom before the first fall frost. Plant the tuber horizontally with the eye or developing sprout facing upward, generally about 4–6 inches deep. The eye is found near the crown where the tubers join the previous year's stem. Each individual tuber itself does not necessarily have an eye. This is important when troubleshooting a tuber that hasn't grown. After planting, avoid keeping the soil continuously wet while waiting for growth, as they can rot out with too much moisture. Since they are tender and may not survive freezing ground temperatures, we recommend lifting them and storing them for the winter months. Let the tubers dry briefly in a cool, protected area, then store them in a dark, frost-free location. Pack them loosely in peat moss, vermiculite, or wood shavings to help prevent drying. Check them occasionally during winter and remove any that become soft or rotten. Replant in spring after the danger of frost has passed.     I was very disappointed that my order of Dahlia was planted but grew about 3 inches which then dried to the ground.I used the best soil with proper drainage but still did not matter. I checked the soil for any remnants of the tubers but did not find any trace.I was looking forward for a robust crop of dahlias flowers but was a disappointing experience

    This Dinnerplate mix is awesome.I got the bag of 10 tubers. All of my plants grew well and are very tall/heavy. Staking is a must, as I lost some to heavy wind that snapped insufficient bamboo stakes. I think my tallest its pushing 5.5 ft. The plants are now covered in buds and I have two very large 8-10 blooms, a purple and a yellow. Would buy again.

    Dahlia Tubers - Dinnerplate Mix

    I bought the 5 bulb dinnerplate mix and planted them in April. When only 2 out of 5 bulbs sprouted, Eden Bros replaced the other 3 within a week of my initial contact. Now the first 2 plants are close to 5 feet tall, covered with buds, and starting to bloom. The replacement bulbs have all sprouted and look healthy. I am very pleased with both the service and the plants/ flowers.
