Charming and lovely, Cornel Dahlia blossoms are perfectly round with tightly-packed, cupped petals. Described as dark cherry or ruby colored, the three- to four-inch ball shaped blossoms provide a long vase life. Four-foot-tall plants bush out, producing an inordinate amount of blooms on strong, sturdy stems. We particularly love how the ruby blooms contrast against the dark green foliage.

These are beautiful right now-October 5. They get about 6-7 )hours of sun and they love it. Ball dahlias are easier to grow here, I think, but my Bushop of Canterbury dahlia is also happy. The shade in the afternoon is the trick in zone 8A as I have tried to grow them in full sun which is only moderately productive.
