Store owner replied: Hello Douglas A J. Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your Dwarf Mix Cornflowers were difficult to establish and didn't provide the results you expected. Cornflowers are generally considered easy to grow once established, but germination can be affected by conditions at planting. In Zone 6, an early May sowing is typically appropriate, although prolonged cool or wet weather can slow emergence, while heavy rainfall may move the seeds, bury them too deeply, or create a crust on the soil surface that seedlings have difficulty breaking through. Planting too deeply, allowing the seedbed to dry out during germination, or competition from weeds can also reduce establishment. For best results, choose a sunny location with well-drained soil, sow the seeds shallowly, and maintain consistent moisture while they germinate. All that explained we'd like the opportunity to help.
