in 2022 i purchased 25 picotee bulbs on sale late in spring, the clearance sale. planted in sungro sunshine mix #4 and used osmocote as a preplant. only 3 sprouted and by midsummer all failed and rotted. in 2023 i purchased 25 roseform and received in late winter early spring, potted in sunshine mix #4, used a 9-9-9 as preplant. all 25 sprouted and are over a foot tall and now blooming and budding. i can only conclude that the bulbs may have a timing mechanism that needs to be fulfilled or late planting is deleterious. i am pleased with the second purchase and will purchase for early arrival from now on.
