Customer photo review of Alyssum Seeds - Basket of Gold

The website says the bloom season is “Spring Through Fall”, which seems misleading. I don’t think you should expect blooms in summer or fall. Now that mine have become established they have lots of blooms in May (Growing Zone 6). The picture shows the blooms after peaking and beginning to fade. (Mid-May).

Not a single germinated seed NOT EVEN ONE

Alyssum Seeds - Basket of Gold

Store owner replied: Hello Heidi. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that none of these seeds germinated for you. Basket of Gold Alyssum can be slower and a bit more particular to germinate than common annual alyssum. The seeds should be sown on or very near the soil surface, as light helps promote germination, and they perform best with consistent moisture and moderate temperatures. Even so, a complete lack of germination is not the result we would expect. We reached out by email but haven't heard back from you. We'd still welcome the opportunity to help, so please reply to our original email if you're interested in discussing the resolution options available. We stand behind our products and would appreciate the chance to help you have a more successful growing experience!

Very disappointed— I areas of yellow we got purple and white.

I live in MT which has hard growing conditions. I threw some of these seeds in my garden bed not thinking too hard about it and saw nothing the first year but then the following year they had taken off big time and I had a see of gold in May!!! That is unheard of where I live. I’m so impressed I’m buying more!

Not sure if it's me or the seeds, but none germinated this or last year. I tried pressing them into soil, just leaving them alone or putting them a little deeper - nothing.

Although they germinated well, out of about 25 plants, I got 3 tiny flowers on one plant. A lot of effort for nothing.

I'll preface this by saying, it bought this to start in a flower bed and hopefully use as a ground cover that would spread over gravel. Multiple modes of planting were used- started indoors is peat starter pods, and in potting soil in the peat cups. None of these came up. Did direct sow in soil enhanced with peat and potting soil. Followed directions on package for direct sow method. We did get some heavy rains several times during the early planting stage, but not one seed rooted and grew. I also tried digging out holes in the gravel covered yard and filling in with garden soil, and putting some more seed in the peat pots with high quality starter soil. These were staggered about 3 feet apart in another attempt to get some ground cover. They were watered several times a week but still--none came up. So, unlike everything else I got from Eden Bros. this one was a fail for me. With at least 5 varied plantings over 3+ spring months in zone 7B I didn't get a single bloom.
