About Allium Bulbs (Small) - Sphaerocephalon
Allium
Also known as "Drumsticks" Allium, Sphaerocephalon allium is a late bloomer that will produce 1 inch egg-shaped flowers late June, after all the other Alliums have already bloomed. The flower will start off green, than bloom and develop to pink and than reddish-purple. These plants are attractive in a garden bed or border, and have nondescript foliage is hidden which fades away when blooming. The charming purple-red drumsticks bloom in midsummer and than fade as summer wears on. The plants are vigorous and the flowers are long-lasting, and widely used for fresh and dried cut flower arrangements. "Drumsticks" allium bulbs can be planted indoors in containers or outside in full sun or partial shade and are deer-resistant.
