I planted these a year later - than I ordered them. For some reason they have grown in to 4 foot plants. I kid you not. they germinated well and are just going gang busters. I have never seen these get so tall. I have a less than full sun garden.

I wish these had been properly labeled. After the seeds started to grow I noticed the seedlings didn't look like Inpatients, but balsam. While I like balsam I really wanted inpatients. Now I have to order again. I see the comments going back 4 YEARS have mentioned this and still the label hasn't been changed

I planted these under a tree when I lived in Illinois The grew about 12-15 inches. I moved to Central Florida zone 9b 3 years ago. I planted these seeds expecting the same results. What a shock! They grew at least 5 feet tall and overtook the whole planting area. They were beautiful. Awesome colors. We had a windstorm and it broke the stalks. I trimmed them away and they are growing back. They are self seeding. As far as being an annual I think they will be around quite awhile!!

I thought that I was doomed for not starting these seeds indoor early spring.. thought I'd still give it a shot and attempted to directly sow them in outdoor planters. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they began growing. They just started to get full blooms this week and they are beautiful! Will definitely purchase again!

know that balsam is an impatien, but its not wallerana. balsam are so easy to grow, and they will reseed. the seed can lay dormant all winter. the color range was great, plants were short and less vigorous and that comes with a dwarf variety. they still performed well and was what i was expecting. great plant for part shade color. i found if started early in the year, plants can be trimmed and may regrow and especially will reseed and they may produce a second crop in long summer areas.

Tried them out for the first time last year. Was pleasantly surprised, They are uniquely different. The bumblebees liked them, and the Park visitors liked them. They are pretty for sure and bloomed all summer long.

Look at the picture carefully, these are not the impatiens you find in a garden store or nursery. They are spiky, and the flowers bloom on the sides (see picture, something I didn't do!). That said, if you want quick, dependable germination and lots of plants, these are great!
